Satur Veterinary Clinic is on the immediate outskirts of Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley - the heartland of thoroughbred breeding in Australia and one of Australia’s notable wine making areas. We are next door to the Hunter Valley Equine Research Station and the new Scone Race Track. The clinic is on a 13 acre rural block and was designed, purpose built and opened by Sandy and Debbie Racklyeft in 1989.
Satur Veterinary Clinic was the first alternative to Scone Veterinary Hospital for many years, and has been instrumental in changing the face of Veterinary Medicine forever in our area. While our small animal and cattle services have grown consistently throughout our 18 years in business, we have now become a highly successful and intensively busy Equine Hospital. We not only provide services to local horse owners and several local Studs, but also see many Specialist Equine Medicine and Surgery referral cases, from other Veterinary Hospitals as far afield as Newcastle and Nelsons Bay. Our other particular strengths are in routine Equine Stud Work, Assisted Equine Reproduction and Equine Dentistry.
Along with six Veterinarians, we have a finely tuned team of five Veterinary Nurses, three experienced girls in reception and administration, a stables and grounds manager, 5 nurses and a regular supply of final year Veterinary Students helping out and honing their skills under supervision.
We are expecting to triple our intensive care capacity and further improve our facility by the beginning of the 2008 Stud season.
