UPGRADED FACILITIES

Over recent years we have upgraded our facility and expanded our staffing to cater for this exciting area of operation. We have 13 acres at the Hospital site, with over 20 large, grassed yards most of which have tree lane buffers, and a large, fully equipped Hospital facility. There is plenty of space for traffic movements and parking with good loading and unloading ramps. Horse movement is facilitated by well designed laneways. We have a covered mare/foal crush for the A.I. & E.T. work and a safe teasing area that adjoins the teaser´s yard. Stallions can be kept quarantined in our AQIS accredited export facility if exporting frozen semen. All of the necessary procedures occur at the clinic site, from setting up donors and recipients, to stallion collection, laboratory semen evaluation, chilled or frozen semen insemination, embryo transfer or shipping of frozen embryos, and pregnancy management. There are 6 Veterinarians in total at Satur Veterinary Clinic, with at least one available at all times for emergency and after-hours calls, if veterinary attention were necessary. In the routine A.I. process, our Vets attend mares at any time of the day or night, to ensure they are inseminated at the optimum time.
